Rogue Mage Kickstarter UPDATE #1

A big hello, everyone.

I just wanted to update you with where we are and what we have learned.

First, as you see, we have surpassed the $1,200 mark! Thank you! Thank you!

The PR and social media ball is rolling. We have an ad in issue #20 of Kobold
Quarterly (the current issue, back page), and Christina Stiles, our lead writer
and developer, is interviewed within. You can learn more about the game in
the interview. Here’s a link to purchase the pdf, though print copies are also
available from the same site (and through gaming stores):
http://www.koboldquarterly.com/kqstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&\products_id=152

(You may have to copy and paste to your browser.)

We have fiction teasers from the book being posted here and there. And we are planning a game on the back porch (if it stays pleasant) or in the dining room (if gets chilly again), here at my house, which we will video and post. And yes,
this will be Faith’s very first ever game.

She says, “I am sure I will look like an idiot, but I don’t care. I am Psyched!”

We also have special things planned for the people who have already pledged – you guys. Like, fiction from the books. Yeah. And maybe a drawing for several pairs of earrings or another piece of jewelry—no matter your pledge level!

As you may already know, if our Kickstarter project isn’t 100% funded at the end of our 45 days then the gaming system won’t get a chance to go into print right now. We are really starting to get the word out with interviews that are coming up around the web, blog posts being written, and the info sharing that is starting to happen through our own networks of friends and industry colleagues.

But, we could really use your help. We are learning as we go here as this is our first Kickstarter project (but certainly not the first round of a publishing project) for us as a team. With our Kickstarter funding timeline being so short (only 45 days!) — we need *you* to help us spread the word on your social networks and sites to make sure that enough people find out about this project in time to really make this thing happen.

Here’s what you could do: Pimp our project. Seriously. Mention it on your own social media pages a couple times a week, and any other venue you think of. We want this to succeed and we know you do too! A share by you could have a really big impact on this project!

We’ll be posting a fiction excerpt on February 1st at www.magicalwords.net, along with an interview with the authors and editor. Come by to get your Rogue Mage fiction fix! Ask us questions. Afterwards, we’ll post a backer-only post with that vignette (and maybe another vignette!), though we hope you will come by Magical Words to read more about our project.

Thanks for your help and we will be posting more updates as we go along.

The Rogue Mage RPG Team
Faith, Christina, Spike, Mike, Adonna, and Stephen
